"Close Shave" is a nod to the classic barber shop — warm lather, smooth glide, and that fresh, clean scent. This shave soap creates a rich, creamy lather that cushions the skin and helps your razor glide effortlessly for a close, comfortable shave.

Formulated with bentonite clay to boost slip and minimize irritation, it's great for all genders and all the places you shave. Each perfectly round bar fits into standard shaving cups or bowls and lathers beautifully with a brush.

Essential oils were carefully chosen not just for their crisp, nostalgic scent, but also for their skin-supportive properties. Whether it’s your face, legs, or anywhere else, this bar is here to make shaving feel like self-care instead of a chore.

Crafted by hand with a whole lotta love (and a little moon magic), our soaps are made using the traditional cold process method. We load them up with organic oils and butters to nourish your skin, and charge the water under the Full Moon for an extra sprinkle of cosmic goodness. Each bar is cured for at least 4 weeks, so they'll last longer than your average soap — because you deserve the best. Learn about soap curing and why it's important here.

Specifics

As bars are hand-cut, expect slight variations in weight, with each bar weighing approximately 4.3-4.6 ounces and 3" in width. A shaving brush is recommended to achieve the best results, sold here. Shaving cup not included.

Soap Care

Our handcrafted soaps are naturally rich in glycerin, a humectant that attracts water to your skin. While that's wonderful for your body, it does require a little extra care of your soap.

Keep your soap happy and long lasting by letting it dry on a draining soap dish and storing it in a cozy, dry spot when not in use.

The Ritual

For best results, use with a shaving brush. Place your shave soap in a bowl or shaving cup. To bloom the soap (optional), cover it with hot water and let it sit for a few minutes, then pour off the water. Using a damp brush, swirl in a circular motion over the surface of the soap to load it and build a rich lather.

No shaving bowl? No problem! You can also lather directly on the soap or build lather right on your skin.

Ethics

All soaps are palm-free, as palm oil production has led to environmental degradation, deforestation, and habitat loss for wildlife.

Note: This is the only non-vegan soap in our line. We use tallow for its unmatched creamy lather and moisturizing benefits. Tallow is a byproduct of the meat industry and is a material that would otherwise be discarded. While we understand and respect that some avoid animal ingredients, we choose to use it as a way of honoring the whole animal and reducing unnecessary waste.

Our products are lovingly handcrafted in small batches right in our own workshop, with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. We work closely with trusted suppliers to bring you the best of the best — mostly USDA-certified organic or Ecocert approved, and Fair Trade ingredients whenever they're available.
